Hypeddit alternative with verified SoundCloud download gates
By Evyatar H. · Updated
TimbrGate is a Hypeddit alternative for independent musicians. Download gates and smart links live in one dashboard. SoundCloud follow, like and repost are verified through SoundCloud's official API after the fan signs in. YouTube subscribe is verified the same way, through YouTube's official API. Signup is free to start.
We built TimbrGate. On 11 June 2026 Hypeddit paused its own SoundCloud API connection. Its notice says follow, like and repost on Hypeddit gates became a step fans can skip. Check Hypeddit's site for any later change. Current plan amounts are on Hypeddit's pricing page. This page does not quote them.
Is TimbrGate a Hypeddit alternative?
Yes. TimbrGate is a Hypeddit alternative with download gates and smart links in one dashboard (disclosure: we built it). Fans unlock a track after actions you choose, including SoundCloud follow, like and repost verified through SoundCloud's official API after they sign in, plus YouTube subscribe and the other platforms listed on our features pages. Signup is free to start. See Hypeddit's pricing page for their current plans. We do not sell chart placement and we do not invent search rankings.
What free to start includes
From the live llms.txt, signup includes download gates, smart links, playlist links, and analytics (visits, downloads, countries, devices, peak hours) with Meta, Google and TikTok pixels. Gate files upload to cloud storage with no app-imposed file-size limit. SoundCloud follow, like and repost, and YouTube subscribe, can be completed through each platform's official API after the fan signs in. Top Popular Tracks is a community chart of tracks shared through TimbrGate. It is not a paid placement.
Hypeddit's Rookie plan
Checked 28/10/2026, hypeddit.com/pricing listed Rookie as a free plan, with unlimited smart links and download gates. Fan email capture, pixels, custom domains, branding removal and WAV, AIFF or ZIP uploads start on Basic. The same page lists Pro and Elite above that. See Hypeddit's pricing page for the current amounts. This page does not quote them.
Verified SoundCloud, or a step fans can skip
On TimbrGate the fan signs in and the named SoundCloud actions run through the official API. On Hypeddit, since 11 June 2026, follow, like and repost are a prompt fans can skip. The June 2026 explainer is the canonical write-up, sourced to Hypeddit's own notice. A fair look at other tools is in the Hypeddit alternatives roundup.
Create a download gate or read how smart links work. Sister station, optional and not part of a gate: TIMBR Radio - Worldwide EDM Station.
When Hypeddit still fits
Hypeddit is a mature product, and staying is a fair choice when its tools match the work you do. Contests, Spotify pre-saves, custom domains and its chart are reasons some artists stay. SoundCloud follow, like and repost are still on Hypeddit gates. Since 11 June 2026, Hypeddit's notice says those steps are voluntary.
Switch when you need those SoundCloud actions verified through the official API, with download gates and smart links in one dashboard. Either choice is reasonable. Signup on TimbrGate is free to start, and there is no one-click import, so keep Hypeddit live until the new links are in your bios and posts.

Three things you get from signup
Smart links inside the same dashboard
Paste a Spotify URL, TimbrGate auto-resolves Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud, Amazon, Bandcamp, and Pandora via SongLink. One link in your Instagram bio that routes every fan to the platform they already use. Playlist links do the same for a Spotify, Deezer, YouTube or Apple Music playlist.
Server-side pixel tracking, built in
Facebook CAPI, Google Measurement Protocol, and TikTok Events API fire on the server when a download completes, so ad blockers and browser privacy limits drop fewer of your conversion events. On Hypeddit, tracking pixels and the Meta Conversion API start on Basic.
Zero ads on the fan-facing gate
TimbrGate is funded by ads on some of our own articles and guides. Your gates, smart links and dashboard carry none. Each gate is built around your cover art, with a custom slug like timbrgate.com/your-track. Below the download there is one small link that invites fans to make their own gate.
Migrating from Hypeddit to TimbrGate
Plan on about 15 minutes for a single release and an afternoon if you are bringing five years of back catalog. Keep the Hypeddit gates live until the new links are the ones fans actually open.
- 1. Export your fan emails from Hypeddit. In your Hypeddit dashboard, click the email count on a gate to download that gate's emails, or all of them at once. Note your follow and download totals for your own records. This step usually takes 5 minutes.
- 2. Create a TimbrGate account. Sign up with email or Google. Click Get Started Free and you are inside the dashboard in about 30 seconds.
- 3. Rebuild your active gates. Upload the same file, paste the same social action URLs (Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud, Discord), and pick the same slug or a cleaner one. Each gate takes about two minutes.
- 4. Update the link everywhere. Instagram bio, TikTok bio, pinned post, YouTube description, link-in-bio, email signature. If you used the old Hypeddit URL on physical flyers or vinyl inserts, set up a 301 redirect on your own site so old QR codes still resolve.
- 5. Cancel Hypeddit at the end of the billing cycle. Keep the period you already paid for. Leave the old gates live until that date, then let them lapse.

Upload your track (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AIFF) or a ZIP, pick which actions fans must complete (Spotify Follow, YouTube Subscribe, Instagram Follow, SoundCloud Repost, Discord Join, and more), and share the link. SoundCloud follow, like and repost, and YouTube subscribe, run through the fan's own account, using each platform's official API.
If I leave TimbrGate, do I get my data back?+
Yes. The fan emails a gate collects are yours to export as a CSV at any time, from that gate's stats page. Your analytics stay readable in your dashboard; there is no analytics export.
